My Mixed Media Drawing/Painting

-What materials did you use in the creation of this project?
Well the first material I used was chalk. I did a gradient pattern of it from light to dark all the way down, and then I covered that in water to give it a weird texture. I also used that on one of my quote to weave it in. Then on top of that I glued my quotes everywhere with regular glue. I also glued a piece of glass over one of the quotes. Then on top of all that, I water colored my scene.
-What text did you use in this project? Where did it come from (poem, song, quote, book, yourself)? Why did you choose this text?
My text was from my absolute favorite book! The book is called Full Tilt by Neal Shusterman. I chose it because it is this wonderful book that I have read over and over and over again and I really just wanted to do some artwork to go with the concept. So I used some wonderful quotes from it.
-How does your text relate to the subject/visual imagery of your artwork?
My text is dark and dreary quotes from the book when things get difficult and complicated in the story, and that's the truth of the book, because underneath the premise of a fun exciting carnival, it's really a dark and twisted thrill ride that kills people. So I painted the carnival scene to have the darkness peak through the fun scene. I really am in love with the way it came out!!
