My Response to Another's Post Secret

I really was fond of the layout of this card. It was very eye catching and graphic, which I really liked. The most clear design concept that they used that caught my eye was the use of collages. It was very eye catching, the use of the cat. I also thought the cat went well with the quote, b. dif, because when I see cat's I think that they are probably the most independent animals, no matter what. I think that they really are original and not free to do what they want. I thought this was really good, and I saw the smiles as people who weren't individuals and instead were all the same as each other and the cat was the one who had broken from the mold.

My Artist Statement: 

My quote was from this time when I was in a relationship that I didn't have my whole heart in and I couldn't possibly truthfully say it back. I used a phone to symbolize where it took place, the numbers and letters in the back also connect to that. I used the bright colors in the back to show who I was at the time, someone bright and exciting, who was being stifled by the guy I let tame me. I drew the face to symbolize how people saw me and how they judged me, using me as either an ogre or a sex symbol. The tape was used for when I finally decided to separate myself for that negative relationship and put the pieces of my life back together.
